AMD and OnePlus are the latest to cancel in-person CES 2022 plans (updated)
More big names cancel CES 2022 plans directly. Cnet Notes AMD and Oneplus have attracted their physical presence on technology shows. Even though they did not provide a detailed explanation, this step was clear in response to the revival of the Omicron Covid-19 variant and a suitable surge in new cases. AMD is transferring direct transactions to the virtual in the “best interest” of everyone’s health, the company said in a statement.
AMD was ready to launch 2022 its products through Livestream on January 4. Oneplus said he would introduce Oneplus 10 Pro in January and reportedly to uncover the phone at CES.
The company joins many major brands that have retreated from the involvement of real world ces, including Amazon, AT & T, GM, Google, Intel, Lenovo, Meta, Microsoft and T-Mobile. The others have focused on virtual presentations, such as Nvidia. Show mainstays such as LG, Samsung and Sony are still committed to this paper.
CES Organizer, Consumer Technology Association, is still planning direct events and believes that health and safety measures are sufficient to protect the participants. It also underestimated the wave of departure, noted there was more new registration than out on December 23. However, the situation has changed in the past few days, and more concerns about the size of the company rather than mere numbers – this will not represent the resurrection of CES if the star attraction is not visible.
