Lego’s ‘Sonic the Hedgehog’ set arrives January 1st
LEGO is not enough for your nostalgic video game mining. After almost a year of work, the company has revealed that Sonic The Hedgehog Green Hill Zone Set will be available online and in LEGO shops on January 1, 2022 for $ 70 (£ 60). Brick-based recreation from the most famous area includes minifigs for Sonic, Dr. Eggman (aka Dr. Robotnik), two creatures and Phantom Ruby. Sonic will not be dissolved around the loop, unfortunately, but there is a technical lever to launch it (or other characters) along with the ring and powerup you expect.
The set is an adaptation that has been completed from Fan Sonic Fan Viv Grannell to the Lego ideas platform. Their concept devices extort 10,000 votes needed to consider for real sets. Lego officially began working in February.
You might not see more sets of lego video games in the near future. Sonic and Mario are the two most famous franchises – LEGO ideas related to other games for legend Zelda, Metroid, and other classics have not approached the 10,000 sound threshold. However, this illustrates the power of crowdsourcing, and this is good news for children who grow with genesis (or mega drives) in the living room.
